Amanda Nolan Performs 'Can’t Keep A Secret' Acoustic | GodTube Exclusive

Christian singer-songwriter Amanda Nolan delivers a powerful and intimate acoustic performance of her breakout single “Can’t Keep A Secret” exclusively for GodTube Music.

With raw emotion and a message rooted in faith, Amanda’s soulful voice brings this fan-favorite to life in a stripped-down setting that highlights the heart behind the song. It’s a reminder of the hope we’ve found in Jesus and why it’s something we can’t keep to ourselves.

Beloved Worship Songs Get Stunning Bluegrass Makeover

Beloved worship songs get a stunning bluegrass makeover in this creative cover by the Hudson Harmony Band. All of the sounds blend together so seamlessly. Play the video to hear it.

As the band appears over various beautiful landscapes in northern Arizona, they sing snippets from “I’ll Fly Away,” “I Can’t Feel at Home Any More,” and other Gospel hymns. The bluegrass worship cover sounds almost a little sped-up, but it may actually just be the fast pace of their fingers on their instruments—they are a very skilled group.

Along with the guitar, members also play the banjo, mandolin, and fiddle. Bluegrass worship covers are wonderful to hear. It’s always nice to hear a song you’ve heard many times reimagined in a different way.

Some of the lyrics from the medley, which are from “I Can’t Feel At Home An More,” are:

This world is not my home, I'm just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me from heaven's open door,
And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.

The hymn first appeared in 1919 in “Joyful Meeting in Glory Song Book No. 1,”  but the author is unknown. It’s a shame because it’s such a thoughtfully and cleverly written song.

The first person to record the song was a blues singer named Sam Jones of Cincinnati, who recorded under the stage name Stovepipe No. 1. Since then, a number of artists have recorded and covered it, including the Arizona-based Hudson Harmony bluegrass band.

It sounds just as good–if not better–when sung in this bluegrass style. Hopefully, the Hudson Harmony Band has got more bluegrass worship covers planned for the future, too!

“For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens.” 2 Corinthians 5:1

Couple’s Stripped-Down Version of 'The Old Rugged Cross'

This couple’s stripped-down version of “The Old Rugged Cross” will lift your spirit today. You can’t go wrong with the harmonica, guitar, and birds chirping. Play the video to remind us of the hope we have in Jesus.

This couple's singing of "The Old Rugged Cross" is bringing glory to God through their cover of this sacred hymn. Some of the song’s lyrics are:

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
the emblem of suffering and shame;
and I love that old cross where the dearest and best
for a world of lost sinners was slain.

The couple’s quaint porch setting makes the video feel very relaxed and laid back. It’s like you’ve just stepped over to your neighbors in the suburbs or country for a chat or Bible study. It’s very inviting, and it makes you just want to sing along. It’s refreshing to see this couple singing "The Old Rugged Cross.”

The Old Rugged Cross Was Written in 1913

The old hymn was written in 1913 by storied songwriter George Bennard. George was a coal miner turned preacher who worked with the Salvation Army. He got the inspiration for this hymn while reflecting on Christ’s crucifixion. The words came to his head: “I’ll cherish that old rugged cross.”

“I really didn’t write it. I was merely the instrument God used,” George said

The cross is a symbol we all know well. We should remember it with solidarity, as it is the instrument of our Savior’s death. More than a symbol of mourning, it’s a symbol of sacrifice and love. Because Jesus saved us from all of our sins through his death. We will for eternity be grateful to that old rugged cross.

“Who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24

Hymn 'Are You Washed in The Blood' Gets Fantastic Bluegrass Cover

The hymn “Are You Washed in the Blood” has received a fantastic bluegrass cover. This rendition of the old church hymn, near and dear to the hearts of many, is one that you’ll find yourself returning to repeatedly. Watch the short but delightful clip to hear their sweet performance of the hymn “Are You Washed in the Blood.”

Hymns are undefeated when it comes to church music, and that will forever be the case. That may not be a statement likely to garner much agreement, especially given how popular contemporary Christian music has become. It’s reached the point when even many churches have turned away from and shunned hymns, which is, in my opinion, extremely disappointing.

However, there is simply no arguing when it comes to hymns and contemporary Christian tunes. Hymns might be old, hundreds of years old in some instances, but that's no reason to forget about them. They are so beautifully written, powerfully expressing Christ’s love, forgiveness, mercy and faithfulness. On the other hand, if you’ve heard one modern contemporary Christian song, you’ve heard them all. Honestly, they sound very similar to many of the songs on most pop radio stations.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a bluegrass group, Backwoods Bluegrass, performed one of those familiar but incredibly underutilized hymns: “Are You Washed in the Blood.”

Their performance is simple: the musicians do nothing more than play the notes and sing the lyrics as intended, and it’s fantastic. Sometimes that’s all you need, and that is most certainly the case here. Their talent and the song’s lyrics shine through, and honestly, what more do you need?

“Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?

It’s a most enjoyable performance, and it deserves to be heard, but perhaps a handful of times.

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”

This 4-Year-Old’s ‘Holy Forever’ Drum Cover Is a Must-Watch

This 4-year-old’s “Holy Forever” drum cover is a must-watch. The little one demonstrated his jaw-dropping, eye-popping musical gifts as he played the Chris Tomlin classic. Watch the short but awe-inspiring clip to see and hear the young man play “Holy Forever” on the drums.

Everyone, even those who may think they were not, was blessed with talents and gifts. Now, just as we are all uniquely created individuals, not mere carbon copies or duplicates, so are our talents. Those gifts and skillsets are as different and varied as the people they were given to, and none of them is the same.

Of course, we all know what some of those talents include. Some people may be excellent public speakers. Others might be tremendous athletes, while others are proficient with their hands and excel in areas like woodworking and construction. Everyone has something to offer and something to contribute. Those gifts were given for a reason. God doesn’t do anything without a specific purpose in mind.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a young man puts his considerable musical talent on full display. The speed and precision with which he plays the drums are unbelievable, and given his age, it is even more impressive. He doesn’t make a false or wrong move throughout the entire short video.

He can do something with ease that most people decades older than him cannot do. The young man is simply outstanding, playing a song that is known and loved by many, making it look effortless.

This video shows that God has bestowed gifts upon everyone, including the youngest among us, and those gifts are incredible and powerful. This clip reminds us that, as the little one in the video does, we are to use our gifts and skills to bring glory and honor to His name.

James 1:17 “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no fickleness, neither shadow of turning.”
